The funeral service for Catherine Greenfield, 91, of Tracy, will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 17, 2019, at Tracy United Methodist Church in Tracy.  Visitation will take place on Friday from 5:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. at the Horvath Remembrance Center in Tracy.  Visitation will continue on Saturday from 10:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m. at the Tracy United Methodist Church.  Interment will follow the service at the Tracy City Cemetery.

Catherine Luella (Ford) Greenfield was born on March 1, 1928, in Marshall, MN, to Robert and Violet (Wixon) Ford.  She grew up near Garvin and worked for a time at the Garvin Corner.  There she met Norman Greenfield.  The couple was married on December 14, 1946, in Marshall.  They farmed and raised their family of nine children on a farm near Balaton.  Catherine also worked for Swift Company for approximately 20 years.  She enjoyed gardening, following the Minnesota Twins, and NASCAR (especially Jeff Gordon.)  Catherine’s passion in life was her family.  She was an excellent cook, and she was always concerned about her children and grandchildren.  She enjoyed following their activities and always played an active part in their lives.

Catherine died on Monday, August 12, 2019, at the Prairie View Healthcare Center in Tracy.  She is survived by her children Diann (and Frank) Smith of Tracy, Norm (and Pam) Greenfield Jr. of Balaton, Gary Greenfield of Tracy, Doug Greenfield of Tracy, Tom (and Debra) Greenfield of Garvin, Donna Greenfield (and Ronn Morgan) of Tracy, Steve (and Barb) Greenfield of Montevideo, David (and Laura) Greenfield of Cottage Grove, and Lori (and Todd) Klosterbuer of Rock Rapids, IA; 22 grandchildren, 30 great-grandchildren, 5 great-great grandchildren; sisters Rachel Breczinski of Marshall and Linda (and Ron) Stibbe of Balaton; sisters-in-law Jane Ford of Great Falls, MT and JoAnn Greenfield of Tracy; nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.  She was preceded in death by her husband, sister Margaret Nelson, and brothers Robert, Merrill and Duane.
