MARSHALL — The American Red Cross says there’s an emergency blood shortage. Blood donors are urgently needed. To help boost donor attendance at blood drives, the American Red Cross is offering a $20 Amazon gift card by email when you donate blood, platelets, or AB elite plasma in the month of February. There’s a blood drive in Canby on at the Schott Building on Thursday from noon until 6:00, located at 104 11th Street East in Canby. The Ruthton Community Center will host a blood drive on Monday, February 19th from 12:30 until 6:30. Also on Monday, the Christ Lutheran Church in Slayton is hosting a blood drive from 1:00 until 6:00. On Tuesday, February 20th, Cottonwood will host a blood drive in the community building from 12:30 until 6:30. The blood drive at the Lyon County Government Center in Marshall scheduled for Wednesday, February 21st is full, according to the American Red Cross website.
