MARSHALL – Avera Marshall was one of the five Avera facilities to earn a 5-star rating by the federal Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS). CMS updated data on Care Compare on July 26th, and this recent update includes over 4,000 hospitals in their database.

The overall star rating summarizes quality information, including mortality, safety of care, re-admissions, patient experience, and timely and effective care. The five top performing Avera sites consistently exceeded national scores.
Other Avera facilities earning the 5-star rating include Avera Heart Hospital in Sioux Falls, Avera Sacred Heart Hospital in Yankton, South Dakota, Avera St. Luke’s Hospital in Aberdeen, South Dakota, and Lakes Regional Healthcare in Spirit Lake, Iowa.
