Police are Searching for Alleged Armed Thief

Yellow Medicine County Sheriff’s Office is looking for assistance in locating a suspect in a 1st Degree Aggravated Robbery that happened 07-25-2021. Xavier Isaac Rodriguez (DOB:03-29-1996) is considered armed and dangerous. There has been a Felony warrant in connection to this case. Yellow Medicine Sheriff’s Office considers him armed and dangerous so do not approach or attempt to apprehend. Two Killed in Collision North of Alpha

Mitchell Jarmer, 24, of Westbrook and Jacob Peterson, 26, of Dovray were both pronounced dead at the scene of a pickup vs. semi collision. The crash took place at around 1:30 p.m. Monday afternoon at the intersection of County Roads 29 and 34 just north of Alpha. According to results of an investigation conducted by the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office, a 2019 Peterbilt semi and bulk trailer driven by Landon Bell, 23, of Bryant, S.D., was traveling north on County Road 29. State health officials warn of rising COVID case numbers from the delta variant, but are not speculating whether broad restrictions will again be needed in Minnesota.  Commissioner Jan Malcolm says the best way to avoid it, is more Minnesotans getting vaccinated. Heat Advisory for Southwest MN

Excessive heat arrives in Minnesota today and stays through tomorrow. Southwestern Minnesota is in a heat advisory, while areas in southern and central Minnesota have an excessive heat watch. Meteorologist Jacob Beitlich of the National Weather Service says heat index values of up to 105 degrees are possible both today and tomorrow. He's urging Minnesotans who have to be outdoors to stay hydrated and take plenty of breaks. Other precautions could be wearing light clothing and working either late or early in the day.

State Extends Minnesota Tax Deadline for Those Affected by Flooding, Winter Storm

The Walz administration says taxpayers have an extra week — until April 22nd — to file their *Minnesota* income tax returns, *if* they’re in 64 counties affected by rapid snowmelt flooding or the winter storm that’s hammered the state this week. State Patrol Says Education is Key in New Hands-Free Cell Phone Law

State Patrol Chief, Colonel Matt Langer promises a “full court press” to educate Minnesotans before the new hands-free cell phone law takes effect for drivers. “Our goal is…, by August 1st, no Minnesota should be surprised by this law. RTR School Board Picks Site For New School

Tyler, MINN(KMHL)- The Russell-Tyler-Ruthton School Board held a special meeting last night and discussed their new school proposal and where to build. The district recently passed a 35-million-dollar bond to build a new K-12 facility in Tyler. The board had three options on the site of the school.
