Holiday Blood Drive at Marshall Area YMCA Today

MARSHALL – The American Red Cross invites the community to give the gift of life this holiday season. A blood drive is being held today, Friday, Dec. 20, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM at the Marshall Area YMCA.  Appointments to donate can be scheduled online at www.redcrossblood.org or by calling 1-800-RED CROSS. Donors are encouraged to take part in this life-saving effort and help support those in need during the holiday season. 

Minnesota Announces New Minimum-Wage Rates for 2025

MARSHALL -- Starting January 1, 2025, Minnesota's minimum-wage rates will rise to $11.13 per hour for all employers, including large and small businesses, as well as youth and J-1 visa workers in hospitality. The state’s 90-day training wage for workers under 20 years old will increase from $8.85 to $9.08 per hour.  This adjustment, indexed for inflation, does not apply to Minneapolis and St. Paul, where local minimum wages are higher.  For workers at Minnesota’s minimum wage, full-time annual earnings will increase to $23,150 in 2025.  Employers statewide must notify employees of pay rate changes in writing before they take effect. Tracy Teen Injured in One-Vehicle Crash on Icy Hwy 19 in Lyon County

MARSHALL – A Tracy teen was injured in a single-vehicle crash on Highway 19 in Lyon County on Tuesday, according to the Minnesota State Patrol. At approximately 1:49 Tuesday afternoon, a 2004 Buick LeSabre was traveling eastbound on Highway 19, it lost control on the icy road, left the roadway, entered the ditch and crashed.  The driver of the Buick, a 17-year-old girl from Tracy, sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was taken to the Marshall hospital.  Assistance was provided by the Lyon County Sheriff’s Office, Marshall Fire and Rescue, and North Ambulance.  

Two Injured in Lincoln County Collision

LAKE BENTON -- Two people were injured in a two-vehicle collision on Saturday in Lincoln County, according to the Minnesota State Patrol. At approximately 8:03 Saturday evening, a 2014 GMC Acadia was traveling northbound on Highway 75 and a 2015 GMC Yukon was traveling westbound on County Road 13 when the vehicles collided in the intersection.  The driver of the Acadia, 47-year-old Kristine Notch of Clarkfield, and her passenger, 20-year-old Alliya Cochrane of Clarkfield, both sustained non-life-threatening injuries and were taken to the Tyler hospital. Canby Man and Two Children Injured in Rollover Crash on Icy Highway 14; Alcohol a Factor, Authorities Say

REVERE -- A Canby man and his two passengers were injured on Friday in a rollover crash on Highway 14 near Revere, according to the Minnesota State Patrol. At approximately 10:48 Friday evening, a 1999 Ford F150 was traveling westbound on Highway 14. Near the intersection with Garden Avenue, the vehicle lost control, entered the ditch and rolled.
