WASHINGTON, D.C. (LEARFIELD) - U-S Senator Amy Klobuchar is defending the F-B-I raid at former President Trump's residence in Florida. The Minnesota Democrat tells N-B-C's "Meet the Press" that the investigation goes beyond politics: "The law is king," said Klobuchar. "The president isn't king and I would add that the former president isn't king. Everyone has to follow the laws." Klobuchar says the recent threats against the F-B-I following the search for classified records at Trump's Mar-a-Largo residence are especially concerning. Some Republicans say the search is an abuse of power by the Biden administration.

MARSHALL (KMHL) – The Lyon County Fair will soon be in full swing. Today is the first official day of the annual event and begins with the Barrel Races and features a steak fry this evening.  Dan Lemke from the Linder Farm Network will be in attendance and is slated as the guest speaker. The PRCA Rodeo is Thursday and Friday night and the Demolition Derby is Saturday in the grandstand. UNDATED (LEARFIELD) - Weekend storms provided relief for dry fields across southern Minnesota. The U-S-D-A’s latest weekly update shows crop development remains behind normal with 26 percent of corn at the drought stage and 60 percent of soybeans setting pods. Corn considered good to excellent dropped a percentage point on the week to 61 percent.  Soybean condition ratings fell three percent to 63 percent good to excellent.

DAWSON (KMHL) – U.S. Marshals and local law enforcement arrested a suspect in Dawson Friday night from a quadruple shooting that occurred in St. Cloud in July. Daquan Christopher Ledbetter, 28, is being held in the Chippewa County Jail in Montevideo after his arrest on a Stearns County warrant. According to a criminal complaint, Ledbetter is among three men charged in a July 6 shooting in St. Cloud. The Minnesota Department of Agriculture's (MDA's) Jim Ostlie (AH-slee)says there is a program puts together teams to help farmers navigate their way through farm transition and succession planning. UNDATED (LEARFIELD) - The state's first case of West Nile virus in a horse indicates the mosquitoes that carry the disease are in west central Minnesota. "Horse infections would serve as kind of a canary in the coal mine of the potential of human cases in the same region," said State Board of Animal Health veterinarian Dr. Brian Hoefs. "We know the mosquitoes that area carrying the virus infected the horse and there's obviously people taking care of that horse."
