“All the evidence is that Harris has excited the Democratic base. The question is still out regarding whether her speech or whether the entire convention really persuaded those very few undecided voters, especially in the swing states. And that’s what we don’t know yet.”
Schultz noted that the next few weeks will reveal whether Harris and Walz’s post-convention bump in the polls will hold.
Carleton College analyst Steven Schier also highlighted the close nature of the race, stating:
“Almost all the polls are within the margin of error right now between Trump and Harris, and that makes for a really important campaign period between now and Election Day.”
Schier emphasized that upcoming presidential debates could be crucial in determining the election’s outcome.
Vice President Kamala Harris and Minnesota Governor Tim Walz are set to kick off a bus tour in Georgia on Wednesday as part of their presidential campaign. According to campaign officials, the Harris-Walz ticket has established a strong presence in Georgia, with over 170 Democratic staffers working across 24 campaign offices in the state.
While Walz is currently in Minnesota conducting interviews for judicial candidates, he has yet to make an appearance at the State Fair. Meanwhile, Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump is scheduled to hold a town hall event on Thursday evening in La Crosse, Wisconsin, just across the state border.
