TYLER, Minn. — The annual Æbleskiver Days celebration begins today, Friday, July 25, in Tyler with a full weekend of events planned through Sunday. This year’s theme is “Old McDonald Had a Farm.” 

Friday’s highlights include a golf tournament at 9 a.m., followed by a picnic supper at the Tyler swimming pool from 5 to 7 p.m., along with “Chalk the Walk” and pool party games from 6:30 to 8 p.m. 

Saturday brings a packed schedule beginning with the Æbleskiver Amble run and bike events at 8:30 a.m., a men’s softball tournament, and æbleskiver pancakes served from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Other family-friendly activities at the fairgrounds include kiddie olympics, mural painting, trolley rides, a bouncy house, pony rides, a car show, bingo, and more. 

Live entertainment Saturday features an eating contest at 10 a.m., jazz from the Pipestone Community Band at 10:30 a.m., and Bob & The Beachcombers from noon to 3 p.m. The Singing Q’s will perform at 4 p.m. in Bandshell Park. 

The Grand Parade kicks off at 6 p.m. on Tyler’s Main Street, followed by an after party with bingo, beer garden drinks, and a free dance featuring “Show Me Your Hits” from 8:30 p.m. to 12:30 a.m. 

Sunday wraps up the celebration with a community church service at 9:30 a.m. 

Throughout the weekend, food vendors, sweet treats from the Danebod Sweet Shop, and Danish cultural exhibits at the Danebod campus will be available. The “Hunt for the Wooden Æbleskiver” continues through the weekend with $50 in Tyler Bucks as a reward.
