ST. PAUL (LEARFIELD) – State lawmakers plan to continue meeting in an effort to reach a bipartisan agreement on a deal to help lower insulin costs.
Insulin4all advocate Nicole Smith-Holt is glad there’s been progress.
“I’m hopeful that they’ll reach agreement on the funding portion and will hold pharmaceutical companies accountable to actually fund the program, that’s the ultimate goal,” said Smith-Holt.
Lawmakers have been negotiating since the legislative session ended two months ago, but appear to still have disagreements about funding for the bill, which is named after Smith-Holt’s son Alec, who died when he could not afford his insulin.
