Adeline “Addy” (Bossuyt) VanMoer was born October 6, 1940 to Ramie and Florence (DeRuyck) Bossuyt at home in Lincoln County. She attended Central Catholic High School where she met her best friend and love of her life, Larry VanMoer. After graduating, Addy worked for Simons & Gregoire Insurance. Addy and Larry were united in marriage on December 2, 1961 at St. Eloi Catholic Church in Ghent, MN. They then moved to California while Larry was in the U.S. Navy.  They returned to Marshall in 1968 where they raised their three children, Curt, Scott and Karla. Addy worked in retail for over 20 years, primarily at Olson & Lowe Clothing and later volunteered at the Avera Thrift Shop and the hospice house. She had a green thumb and plants and flowers flourished in and around her home. She was very creative and enjoyed making crafts and painting. Larry was her partner for many of these creations. The love shared between Addy and Larry was remarkable and it shown wherever they were and in all they did. They enjoyed traveling in the western states, driving through the mountains, and seeing Alaska and Hawaii. They were blessed to have 67 life-filled years together.  Addy’s greatest joy was spending time with her family and making memories with her grandchildren, playing games, summer vacations at the lake, cheering them on at their activities. She was quick to give a smile, wink and a wave to make us feel loved. She had a kind and gentle heart and received so much joy from giving to others.

After a brief battle with Lymphoma, Addy died at home on March 30th surrounded by her family.

Addy is survived by her husband, Larry; children Curt (Dawn) VanMoer, Scott (Maren) VanMoer, Karla (John) Engels; grandchildren Katrina (Rob) Kurtenbach, Lance (Courtney) VanMoer, Amber Engels, Travis Engels; great-grandchildren Morgin and Leevah Kurtenbach. Siblings Angie (Don) Wyffels, Robert (Janet) Bossuyt, Caroline (Jerry) VanKeulen, Gene (Mary Jo) Bossuyt; in-laws Bernice Bossuyt, Lorraine (Cletus) Lanners, Charles (Pat) VanMoer, Lynda (Al) Johnson, Julie (Mike) Leese, and many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.  She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers Ernest and Leonard Bossuyt, in-laws Herb and Marie VanMoer, sister-in-law Joan Halvorson.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Avera Home Hospice, Prairie Home Hospice or Calvary Catholic Cemetery.
