MONTEVIDEO, Minn. — The Chippewa County Fair opens today, July 30, and runs through Sunday, August 3, 2025, at the fairgrounds in Montevideo.
Opening Day festivities begin with livestock entry and open class judging in the morning, followed by 4-H shows, carnival rides, and the official opening of gates at 4 p.m. Highlights include the 4-H Fashion Review at 6:30 p.m. and Great Frontier Bull Riding at 7:00 p.m. DJ Vibe Life Entertainment will close out the evening at 8:30.
Thursday’s schedule features 4-H swine and horse shows, a pet show, sweet corn feed, and Pit Bike Racing in the grandstand at 7:00 p.m. Entertainment continues with the Whitesidewalls and DJ Vibe Life.
Friday is Veteran’s Day at the Fair, offering free gate admission to veterans and free entry to the Historical Chippewa City with proof of military ID. Events include a beef show, livestock costume contest, bounce house, steak fry by Midwest Cattleman’s, and Fiesta City Speedway Races with veterans recognition.
Weekend highlights include a goat show, bean bag tournament, color run, and live music from Hairball and Hicktown Mafia on Saturday. Sunday is Family Day, with free gate admission, church service, tractor pull, Lego contest, and the 4-H Blue Ribbon Auction.
Gate prices are $10 Wednesday through Friday and $15 Saturday. Daily activities include a Midway carnival, 4-H shows, petting zoos, and the Ag Learning Center.
