Mass of Christian Burial for Patricia “Pat” Peltier, 72, of Cottonwood, will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, October 19, 2024, at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church in Marshall. Visitation will be Friday, October 18, from 5:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. following a Parish Prayer Service at 4:30 p.m. at the Horvath Remembrance Center in Marshall. Visitation will continue on Saturday from 10:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m. at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church. Interment will take place at a later date at St. Clotilde Catholic Cemetery in Green Valley. The Horvath Funeral Service in Marshall is handling the arrangements.
Patricia Reneé Peltier was born on September 3, 1952, in Tracy, MN, to Earl and Dorothy (Maeyaert) Maertens. When she was young, she moved with her family to a farm south of Porter where she grew up with her siblings. She graduated from Canby High School in 1970. Pat worked for Northwestern Bell for a time in Marshall. On February 13, 1971, she was united in marriage to Wayne Peltier at Sts Cyril & Methodius Catholic Church in Taunton. The couple lived in Marshall for a time before moving to a farm near Cottonwood where they raised their family. Pat worked for the Wedding Belle Bridal Shop for a time. Later, she worked for the Schwan Food Company in the Marketing Department until 2008 when she went to work for the family business, P & K Fabricating. Pat was very meticulous and organized. She enjoyed cooking and baking. She also enjoyed sewing and would alter or create many dresses and garments. She cared for a vegetable and flower garden and especially enjoyed time with family and friends at her local residence or cabin on Nest Lake. For many years, Pat struggled courageously with ALS disease.
Pat died on Saturday, October 12, 2024, at the Prairie Home Hospice Lockwood House in Marshall. She is survived by her husband, Wayne, of Cottonwood, son Shawn Peltier of Spicer, grandchildren Addison and Sydney; son Quinn (Shelly) Peltier of Cottonwood, grandchildren Brooklin (Colton) Bates and Mitchell Peltier; son Colin (Sarah) Peltier of Cottonwood, grandchildren Blake and Vanessa Peltier; siblings Kathy (David) Schreurs of Arco, Lora (Doug) Lindsley of Lynd, Brenda (Curt) Hanson of Proctor, nieces, nephews, in-laws, relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents and brothers Dennis and Alan.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to Prairie Home Hospice.
