Do you live with someone who casually critiques your dietary choices?  Like, “Cheez-Its again, huh?”  Well, now they’ve got reinforcements on the way in the form of A.I.

Researchers in Canada are working on a new A.I. that can identify different foods . . . so it can watch what you eat and SHAME you for it.

It’s not ready for primetime yet.  Right now, it can just calculate how much food is on your spoon or plate with about 95% accuracy.  It can’t identify exactly what you’re eating yet, but they’re confident it’ll get there.

Once that happens, it would use cameras to track what you eat.  So someday soon, Alexa might watch you open a bag of chips and say, “Are you sure you want to do that?  You’ve already consumed too many calories today.”
