Benson man arrested in Willmar after bomb found in truck

WILLMAR (LEARFIELD) - It was just a home-made sparkler, a man from Benson who's now facing multiple charges told police, after they found a bomb in his pickup truck Monday afternoon. Kandiyohi County Sheriff Eric Holien (ho-LEEN) says the device had a fuse and was larger than a pipe bomb. Chippewa County authorities identify two people found near cemetery

MONTEVIDEO (KMHL) – The Chippewa County Sheriff’s office has identified the two people who were found dead over the weekend in a secluded area near the Sparta cemetery. Authorities say Charity Hoffelt, 41, of Sioux Falls, died at the scene of suicide from a gunshot wound. Sheriff’s officials say the death of 42-year-old Andy Wilcox, also of Sioux Falls, remains under investigation. Authorities say the two were dating. Huge turnout for Carter’s Court MARSHALL (KMHL) – There was a huge turnout yesterday at Independence Park for the unveiling of Carter’s Court. Marshall won a vote of southern Minnesota communities in need of an upgraded outdoor basketball court from the Minnesota Timberwolves and US Bank. DES MOINES, IOWA (KMHL) – Hy-Vee says it is in the early stages of investigating a data security incident involving their payment processing systems. In a press release from the company, Hy-Vee says they have detected unauthorized activity in some of their payment systems. The company says it is early in the investigation, but they immediately began investigating the issue with help from leading cybersecurity firms and reported it to law enforcement and the payment card networks. JEANINE RAE WILLTS was born on November 17, 1935, to Myron and Anna (Hohensee) Johnson in Worthington, Minnesota. She spent her childhood years in Bigelow, Minnesota and graduated from Worthington High School. She was baptized and confirmed at St. Matthew’s Lutheran Church in Worthington where she was also united in marriage to Gordon Willts on June 21, 1957. The couple made their first home in Bigelow before re-locating to Watertown, South Dakota. For the majority of their married life, Jeanine and Gordon made their home in Tyler, Minnesota.
