WORTHINGTON – A Worthington woman is dead following a two-vehicle collision that occurred on I-90 in Nobles County on Friday, according to the Minnesota State Patrol. At approximately 1:12 Friday afternoon, a 2011 Chevy Equinox was stopped in the eastbound lanes of I-90, while a 2023 Dodge Ram pickup was traveling eastbound on I-90 and collided into the Chevy from behind.
The driver of the Chevy, 75-year-old Christie Lee Eichner of Worthington, was transported to the Worthington hospital where they were pronounced dead.
The driver of the Dodge, 45-year-old Elly Jo Bibby Wagner of Redfield, SD, and her passengers, an 11-year-old girl and a 15-year-old girl, were not injured.
Assistance was provided by the Nobles County Sheriff’s Office, Worthington Police Department, Worthington Fire Department, and Worthington Ambulance.
