MARSHALL (KMHL) – Winter is planning to make an early appearance this season in southwest Minnesota.

The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Weather Advisory for much of southwest and southern Minnesota and eastern South Dakota.

Forecasters are calling for up to 4 inches of snow today in the Marshall area with wind gusts to 25 miles per hour.

Forecasters say the snow could be heavy at times today – it is expected to change over to mostly rain after 4 p.m.
