WILLMAR — Two people were injured when their vehicles collided Wednesday morning on Highway 40 in Chippewa County, according to the Minnesota State Patrol. At approximately 8:19 Wednesday morning, a 2012 Ford pickup was traveling northbound on Chippewa County Road 4 in Louriston Township of Chippewa County, and a 2002 Ford Explorer was traveling westbound on Highway 40 when they collided in the intersection.
The driver of the Explorer, 29-year-old Kyle Reider Cappelen of Willmar, sustained life-threatening-injuries and was transported to the Sioux Falls Hospital.
The driver of the Ford pickup, 23-year-old Jose Ramon Delgadoacosta of Houston, Texas, sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was treated at the scene. His passenger, 39-year-old Leudon Camporodriguez of Houston, Texas, was not injured.
The report notes all three occupants were not wearing their seat belts.
