REDWOOD COUNTY, Minn. — U.S. Secretary of Agriculture Brooke Rollins will be a featured speaker at the Minnesota Farmfest Forums on Tuesday, Aug. 4.
Rollins is scheduled to address attendees at 10:10 a.m. in the Wick Buildings Farmfest Center, where she is expected to discuss challenges and opportunities facing American agriculture.
Her appearance will be followed by the first congressional forum of the day for Minnesota’s 1st and 2nd Congressional Districts at 10:30 a.m. A second congressional forum for the 6th, 7th and 8th Districts is scheduled for 1:15 p.m.
Wednesday’s schedule includes a Minnesota governor’s candidate forum at 10:30 a.m. and a U.S. Senate candidate forum at 1:15 p.m., with discussions centered on agriculture and rural issues. The Ag Outlook Forum will also be held Wednesday at 9 a.m., featuring updates on crop conditions, commodity prices and the agricultural economy.
Thursday’s events include the Women in Ag program at 10:45 a.m. and the University of Minnesota Farm Family of the Year recognition program at 1:15 p.m. Daily livestock sessions are also scheduled at 11:15 a.m. in the Livestock Tent.
Farmfest officials said Rollins’ address will be livestreamed on the Farmfest website. Farmfest runs Aug. 4-6 at the Gilfillan Estate near Redwood Falls.
