MARSHALL – One man is dead after a two-vehicle collision involving a straight truck and pickup at the intersection of Highway 23 and 59 in Marshall, according to the Minnesota State Patrol. At approximately 2:47 Friday afternoon, a 2013 Dodge Ram was traveling northbound on Highway 23 while a 2007 Freightliner M2 Straight Truck was turning onto southbound Highway 59 from Highway 23 southbound. The vehicles collided in the intersection. 

The driver of the Dodge, 69-year-old Gary James Snook of Lynd, died from injuries sustained in the accident. The report notes Snook wasn’t wearing his seatbelt. 

The driver of the straight truck, 30-year-old Taylor Ronald Schmidt of Ruthton, was not injured.
