SANBORN – A two-vehicle accident at the intersection of 450th Avenue and County Road 11 near Sanborn claimed two lives on Sunday at approximately 5:46 p.m., according to the Cottonwood County Sheriff’s Office.
The collision involved a westbound 2014 Chevy Equinox on County Road 11 and a northbound 2007 Chevy Silverado on 450th Avenue. The driver and passenger of the Equinox were pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the Silverado sustained non-life-threatening injuries.
The identities of the deceased are being withheld pending family notification.
The Cottonwood County Sheriff’s Office was assisted by the Minnesota State Patrol, Sanborn Fire Department, Sanborn First Responders, Lamberton Ambulance, and Westbrook Ambulance.
