REDWOOD COUNTY, MN — The Redwood County Sheriff’s Office responded to a two-vehicle crash at 5:36 p.m. on December 5, 2025, after icy conditions caused a vehicle to lose control and slide into oncoming traffic.

According to the Sheriff’s Office, a northbound Dodge Ram, driven by 53-year-old Holly Reigstad, crossed into the opposite lane after sliding on ice. A southbound 2016 Chevy Traverse, driven by 60-year-old Laurie Sturgeon, then struck the pickup.

Deputies arriving at the scene found the Traverse disabled in the roadway with heavy front-end damage. The Dodge Ram had come to rest in the north ditch with significant damage to the driver’s side.

A front-seat passenger in the Traverse, 23-year-old Hannah Sturgeon, and Reigstad were both transported by EMS to a local hospital for treatment. No other injuries were reported.

The Redwood County Sheriff’s Office was assisted by the Redwood Falls Fire Department, Wabasso Ambulance, CentraCare Ambulance, and the Minnesota State Patrol.
