WILLMAR – Two people are dead and one person sustained serious injuries in a two-vehicle collision south of Willmar on Wednesday, according to the Kandiyohi County Sheriff’s Office. At approximately 11:38 Wednesday morning, a Ford Edge was traveling westbound on County Road 3 and a Chrysler Pacifica was traveling northbound on County Road 5. The vehicles collided in the intersection and both vehicles ended up in the ditch.

The driver of the Chrysler, an 83-year-old from Blomkest, and their passenger, a 76-year-old from Blomkest, both died from injuries sustained in the accident.

The driver of the Ford, a 75-year-old from Clara City, sustained serious, but non-life-threatening injuries and was taken to the CentraCare Rice Hospital.

The names of the people involved in the crash have not been released at this time.
