Hanley Falls (KMHL) – Three people were injured in a crash in Yellow Medicine County, involving a Minnesota State Patrol Squad car on Sunday evening. The front of the squad car, driven by Chad Patrick Nigg of Marshall, was southbound on Highway 23 approaching County Road 18 with its emergency lights on, when he collided, hitting the passenger side of a 2013 Chevy Equinox that was proceeding into the intersection. The driver, 83-year-old Leo Roy Kack of St. Leo, was transported to Avera Granite Falls and then to Hennepin County Medical Center with injuries that were serious but not life threatening. His passenger, 83-year-old Audrey Marie Kack, was airlifted to Hennepin County Medical Center with serious but non-life-threatening injuries. An investigation of the crash is ongoing.
