Mass of Christian Burial for Thomas Joseph “Tom” Louwagie, 83, of Marshall, will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, May 5, 2026, at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church in Marshall. Visitation will be held on Monday from 4:30 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. with a CCW Rosary at 4:30 p.m. and a Parish Prayer Service at 7:00 p.m. at the Horvath Remembrance Center in Marshall. Visitation will continue on Tuesday from 9:30 a.m. – 10:30 a.m. at the Remembrance Center. Interment will take place at St. Clotilde Catholic Cemetery in Green Valley.

Thomas Joseph Louwagie was born on March 3, 1943, in Marshall, MN, to Oscar and Mary (Van Uden) Louwagie. He grew up on the family farm near Green Valley where he farmed with his family. In 1986, he moved to Marshall. He later worked at Hy-Vee for 16 years. He enjoyed this job and made many friends with his co-workers and customers.

Tom loved people and was very friendly. He was a faithful Parishioner at St. Clotilde Catholic Church and listened to the radio rosary daily. He enjoyed word search puzzles, pin bowling and following the Minnesota Twins. He also enjoyed selling raffle tickets, especially for the church. Tom was especially fond of family gatherings and time spent with his nieces and nephews. He always had his camera and very much enjoyed taking photos.

After his mother Mary died, Tom moved to Boulder Estates. For the last four years, he was living at Prairie View Senior Living in Tracy. He died on Thursday, April 30, 2026, at the Prairie Home Hospice McLaughlin House in Marshall. Tom is survived by his siblings Lorraine (Cletus) Lanners of Marshall, Tony (Ruth) Louwagie of Marshall, Leonard (Marian) Louwagie of Marshall, Phyllis (Ken) Persoon of Cottonwood, Marvin (Jeanne) Louwagie of Cottonwood, Rita (Lawrence) Roles of Dodge Center, Gary (Sheryl) Louwagie of Marshall

and many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother-in-law Leonard Bossuyt.

Memorials preferred to Prairie Home Hospice of Marshall or a charity of the donor’s choice.
