Thomas LeRoy Jones, age 88, of Morton, passed away on Tuesday, December 8, 2020 at the River Valley Health and Rehabilitation Center of Redwood Falls. A Graveside Service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, August 14, 2021 in the Calvary Catholic Cemetery, Morton, Minnesota. Arrangements are with Nelson-Hillestad Funeral and Cremation Services of Redwood Falls.
Thomas LeRoy Jones was born September 21, 1932 to Michael and Ida (Ave) Jones in Morton. Tom attended and graduated from the Morton High School in 1950. After graduating he joyed the Army and served during the Korean War. When he returned from the Army, he worked his entire life in construction and taconite mines. Tom was an avid gardener and loved to work in his flower and vegetable gardens over the years. In his retirement he was the grounds keeper for the Renville County Museum in Morton where he made sure every thing looked perfect from the lawn to the many flower gardens. Tom had been a member of the Morton American Legion.
Tom is survived by his sister, Dorsey Breitkreutz of Renville and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, his brother, Robert and sisters, Helen Jacobus, Joanie Eischens, Mary Ellen Neudecker and Margaret in infancy.
