The ACM Awards are tonight at 8:00 p.m. Eastern and will air on Amazon Prime.  Who’s gonna take down Entertainer of the Year?  And Song of the Year?

While we’re all not-so-patiently waiting, here’s what you need to know to get you ready for the big show:

1.  The performers include:  Post MaloneBlake Shelton and Gwen StefaniKane Brown, and Jelly Roll.

(Here are the rest of the performers.  And here are all the nominees.)

2.  The ACM Kickoff Festival was Tuesday night and they already announced three winners.  Nate Smith won Best New Male . . . Megan Moroney won Best New Female . . . and Tigirlily Gold won best Duo/Group.  This is the first time the Duo/Group award has been presented since 2019.

3.  Jelly Roll said he doesn’t deserve to be in the category of Entertainer of the Year, but he is honored.  He said, “If I could give the award away myself, I would give it to Cody Johnson.”

4.  Jason Aldean plans to pay tribute to Toby Keith by singing “Shoulda Been a Cowboy”.

And check out these awesome throwbacks to the ACMs of yesteryear:

1983 – That time Mr. T gave a weird speech.

1994 – Alan Jackson was told he had to perform with a pre-recorded backing track.  He was so pissed at the producers that he sent his drummer out with NO drumsticks.  And he air-drummed the whole song.  (Watch this video for a good laugh.

2019 – Miranda Lambert threw some shade at Blake Shelton.

And don’t forget in 2022 when the ratings for the awards shows were bad, you got this gem from Justin Moore . . . He said, “If they put country artists on there, they’d probably get back some viewers.”
