Minnesota’s existing mail voting system will remain in place for the November election after the U.S. Supreme Court rejected the Trump administration’s effort to implement new Postal Service requirements. The proposed rules would have required states to submit voter information to a federal system and comply with new requirements for ballot envelopes. Minnesota was among 24 states that challenged the changes. Secretary of State Steve Simon says Minnesotans can continue voting by mail under the state’s current system. Mail and in-person absentee voting for the November 3 general election begins Friday, September 18.
