STORDEN (KMHL) – Severe storms that moved through southwest Minnesota Wednesday evening caused structural damage, including a gas leak, in the Cottonwood County community of Storden.

The Cottonwood County Sheriff’s office confirmed the information for Marshall Radio Wednesday evening.

Authorities say the damage, included a gas lead, and they were evacuating people from the immediate area of the gas leak. According to the National Weather Service, a tornado was reported in Storden by emergency personnel just before 6 PM Wednesday night.

There are no known injuries reported from the storm.

Law enforcement in Renville County also reported storm damage near Buffalo Lake. According to the weather service, a barn was destroyed and several trees were knocked down near the community.

Large tree branches were reported to be knocked down in the Jeffers area, and funnel clouds were reported near several communities in Redwood County.
