A funeral service for Stephen Wayne Meyer, 75 of Marshall, MN, will be held on Monday, July 3, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. Christ Evangelical Lutheran Church in Marshall, MN. A public visitation will be held on Sunday, July 2, 2023 from 4:00p.m. – 7:00p.m. at Horvath Remembrance Center in Marshall, MN. Visitation will continue Monday morning at Christ Lutheran Church from 10:00a.m. – 11:00a.m. Burial with military honors takes place at the Marshall City Cemetery following the funeral service. Upon conclusion of the graveside service a luncheon will be held at Christ Lutheran Church. The Horvath Funeral service in Marshall is handling the arrangements.
Stephen Wayne Meyer was born on November 19, 1947 in Marshall, MN to Leonard and Elsie (VanDale) Meyer. He graduated from Marshall Senior High School in the spring of 1966 and then went on to serve in the National Guards. He then completed heating and cooling technical training in Jackson, MN. For 43 years Steve owned and operated Meyer heating and cooling in Marshall, MN. He met Veronica Thooft in 1987. The couple was married in 1989 at Christ Lutheran in Marshall, MN. Through their marriage he gained three daughters, Heather, Crystal, and Tiffany. Steve and Veronica loved to travel and took many trips during their time together. Highlights of their travels include trips to Australia, Bahamas, Fiji, Italy, Noah’s ark in Kentucky, 12 cruises, and 112 Willie Nelson concerts. Stephen’s family was important to him. He had a special place in his heart for his granddaughters and enjoyed competing in a horseshoe league with his grandsons. .
Stephen died on June 29, 2023 at Elmore Assisted Living in Blue Earth, MN.
Stephen is survived by his wife Veronica Meyer; daughter Heather (Charlie) Hoflock, grandchildren Kaylee, Kiah, Preston, Peyton; daughter Crystal (Paul) Martinson, grandchildren Alexander, Oliver; daughter Tiffany (Benjamin) Meulebroeck, grandchildren Laura, Jakob; daughter Melissa (Mike) Carlson; son Jeff (Paula) Meyer; daughter Laurie Wall; six grandchildren and two great grandchildren; sisters Virginia Dobis and Brenda Woy. He is preceded in death by his parents Leonard and Elsie (VanDale) Meyer, brother David Meyer, sister Barbara Ludwig, and two infant grandchildren.
