Mike Youngs, age 83, of Marshall, Minnesota, passed away at his home on August 15, 2026. Interment with Military Honors will be at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, August 21, 2026, at the Marshall Cemetery. Arrangements are with the Hamilton Funeral Home in Marshall.
Mike was born to Lawrence “Jack” and Martha (Hoff) Youngs on December 30, 1942. He grew up in Renville, Minnesota, where he was confirmed at the United Methodist Church. Mike graduated from Renville High School in 1960, and after graduation he entered the United States Air Force and served his country for 4 years before being honorably discharged in 1964. In October, while stationed at the Air Force base in Boulder City, Louisiana; from his first marriage, Mike was blessed with a son, Michael Price. In 1977, Mike and LaVonne Meyer were united in marriage, and they made their home in Marshall. Mike’s entire career was with AT&T, installing and repairing complex phone systems throughout commercial properties. Mike and Vonnie loved to travel and play golf. Mike’s creativity and attention to detail was phenomenal which he exhibited as a talented woodcarver, quickly becoming one of Mike’s favorite pastimes.
Mike Youngs passed away at his home on August 15, 2026. He reached the age of 83 years, 7 months, and 16 days. Blessed be his memory.
Mike is survived by his wife, Vonnie Youngs of Marshall; son, Price (and Betty) Youngs of Nederland, TX; granddaughters, Whitney and Ashley; along with many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Larry; sister, Jacquelyn; and a grandson, Tristan.
