MARSHALL — A new home is in the works for Southwest West Central Service Cooperative. During Marshall’s city council meeting on Tuesday, members voted to approve a pre-development agreement with SWWC. SWWC is planning to build a 16,000 square foot facility across five acres of land near the corner of London Road and Channel Parkway. The agreement calls for the land to be purchased for $1, and SWWC will use conduit bond financing for the project.
SWWC serves more than 50,000 students in the area and employs 459 people, including 52 here in Marshall. Officials say they hope the final design and costs will be set in December, with construction starting in spring 2024 and an expected opening date in July 2025.
