MARSHALL (KMHL) – Students return to Southwest Minnesota State University today. It’s the kickoff event to the school year that opens up Gold Rush Days as students begin returning to classes.

But organizers note the event will have a little different look this year, due to the COVID-19 pandemic and  to aid in social distancing,

SMSU officials have scheduled move-in times over the course of the whole weekend. Also many of the Gold Rush Days orientation activities and events will be handled virtually this year, instead of in-person.
