DARFUR – One man is dead, and another is in critical condition following a two-semi collision in Watonwan County on Wednesday, according to the Minnesota State Patrol. At approximately 8:23 Wednesday morning, a 1995 Freightliner semi was traveling eastbound on Highway 30 and a 1998 Kenworth semi was traveling southbound on County Road 5 when the trucks collided in the intersection.
The driver of the Freightliner, 31-year-old Dylan Robert Maas of Sleepy Eye, died at the scene. The driver of the Kenworth, 32-year-old Cody James Crowley of Golden Valley, sustained life-threatening injuries and was taken to the HCMC hospital.
Assistance was provided by the Watonwan County Sheriff’s Office, Butterfield Police Department, Darfur First Responders, Butterfield First Responders, and St. James Ambulance.
