Shirley Green, age 65, of Ivanhoe, MN passed away Saturday, January 11, 2020 at the Avera McKennan Hospital in Sioux Falls, SD. A service will be held at St. John Cantius Catholic Church, Wilno, MN on Sunday, February 2, 2020. There will be a Rosary reading at 12:30 p.m. and prayer service at 1:00 p.m. Internment at the church cemetery will be held this spring on a date to be determined. The Houseman Funeral Home, Birk Chapel is entrusted with the arrangements.

Born September 9, 1954 in Baltimore Maryland, Shirley was the daughter of Anzelm Citterman who was born in Lincoln Township Marble and Floryne “Stange” Citterman who was born and raised in Baltimore.

Shirley was of the Catholic faith, receiving sacraments at St Casimirs in Baltimore. Shirley was raised in Baltimore, married and raised her son, Michael Green Jr.

Shirley held various jobs in the Baltimore area while raising her family before moving to Ivanhoe in 2005 which was a second home to her. Her father was born and raised in Canby but also spent many years in Ivanhoe. Shirley has many family in the area and made many friends along the years since making Ivanhoe her home.

Shirley was known for helping out her loved ones every chance she could. Shirley loved those around her and modeled great courage through her life story. She will be missed for her great listening ear and her ability to make those around her laugh.

Shirley held a special place in her heart for her Ivanhoe family and is survived by Audrey Citterman as well as Tony Citterman, Nick Citterman (Sherri), Wanda Hebrank (Chris), Lisa Przymus (Tom), Debbie Vlaminck (Dave) and Norbert and Ray Popowski all of Ivanhoe as well as the rest of her extended family.

Shirley was preceded in death by her father Anzelm Citterman and dear family members Emil Citterman and Hedwig Ratajczak. Shirley is survived by her son Michael Green Jr of Brewster, Mn and granddaughter Michaela. She is also survived by her mother Floryne Citterman, sisters Vivian Rogers (Jimmy) Anita Hudnet, Annette Pearson and brothers Mitchell Citterman (LuAnn) and Gary Citterman (Robyn), including many nieces and nephews in Baltimore.
