The funeral service for Sean-David “SD” Doyle, 53, of Rural Lucan will take place at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 22, 2021, at Christ Lutheran Church in Marshall. Visitation will take place from 5:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. on Friday with a Prayer Service at 7:30 p.m. at the Horvath Remembrance Center in Marshall. Visitation will continue on Saturday from 9:00 a.m. – 10:00 a.m. at Christ Lutheran Church. Interment will follow the service at the Johnsonville Cemetery in Rural Lucan.

Sean-David Byron Doyle was born on April 8, 1968, in Marshall, to John and Bonny (Johnson) Doyle. He grew up in Marshall and graduated from Marshall High School in 1987. SD attended Buena Vista College in Storm Lake, IA, and completed his Bachelor’s Degree at Southwest Minnesota State University in Marshall. SD was a talented swimmer. He competed for Marshall and at Buena Vista and later taught swimming and coached the Marshall High School Team. On April 24, 1993, he was united in marriage to the love of his life, Angela Schmiesing, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Walnut Grove. The couple lived in Marshall for a time before moving to their home in Rural Lucan. SD managed the bus garage for Wabasso and Milroy. He enjoyed singing and participated in the Men’s Chorus and choir at church. He enjoyed spending time outdoors including hunting and camping. SD was very social. He enjoyed visiting and made friends easily. Family was most important. He enjoyed time spent with his wife, children and grandchildren.

Sean-David was diagnosed with colon cancer on September 14, 2020. He died, surrounded by family, under the care of hospice on Tuesday, May 18, 2021, at his residence in Rural Lucan. He is survived by his wife, Angela, daughter Jocelyn (and Adam) Kleeberger, grandchildren Brielle and Layla, son Jared Doyle special friend Lexie Vande Hoef, daughter Jasmine Doyle, special friend Colton Crowell, son Jacob Doyle, all of Rural Lucan, parents John and Bonny Doyle of Marshall, and sister Karlyn Doyle and Tom Warnemunde of St. Joseph. He was preceded in death by all of his grandparents.
