Sadie Iona Milner was born on September 30, 1937, in Park Rapids, Minnesota. She was born to Leonard and Florence (Brisset) King and spent her childhood in Park Rapids.  Later she met James “Bud” Gould and together, they started their family with 5 children: Donna, Ron, Mike, Roger, and Marlene. In the early 1960s the couple lost a son, Roger, and then in 1965 Bud passed away at age 36 from a heart attack. Now a young mother with 4 children, Bud’s brother, Jack, made Sadie his wife. Jack and Sadie then added Mark to their growing family. With much heartache, Jack also passed away during a horrible accident.  Sadie, in her young 30s, and widowed twice, decided she was not going to bury any more husbands. She leaned on Jack’s best friend, Arthur Milner, for support. Art was 11 years younger, and willing to take on her 5 children as his own. Art and Sadie fell in love and were married on June 24, 1967.  They had 2 sons together: Arthur Jr. and Tommas. Sadie and Art had 55 wonderful years of marriage prior to his death last April.  Sadie was a devoted homemaker and mother, committed to raising her children. She also worked a few odd jobs, including at the egg manufacturing plant and Swift and Company in the early 1980s. In her spare time, Sadie loved to go dancing (even if it was in her kitchen) and she taught her young boys how to dance! Sadie also enjoyed fishing and camping. A couple things she’ll always be remembered for are her beautiful crocheting and baking fresh bread for her family and friends to enjoy.  In retirement, Art and Sadie enjoyed traveling around the United States, pulling their fifth wheel everywhere they went. They spent a majority of their time in Texas and Arizona, coming back to Minnesota in the summers to visit family and their growing grandchildren. Years later, with health declining, they moved to Heritage Pointe Senior Living in Marshall.

Sadie Milner entered into eternal life on February 28, 2024, at her home in Marshall, Minnesota. She had reached the age of 86 years, 4 months, and 29 days. Blessed be her memory.

She is survived by her children, Donna (Doug) Dietz of Colville, WA, Rodney “Ron” (Brenda) Gould of Mankato, Mark (Peg) Gould of Pipestone, Arthur “Art” Jr. (Michelle) Milner of Cottonwood, and Tommas “Tom” (Angie) Milner of West Fargo, ND; 19 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; sisters-in-law, Marilyn King, Gail King; many nieces and nephews, other relatives, and friends.  Sadie was preceded in death by her parents, Leonard and Florence King; her first love, James “Bud” Gould (in 1965); husbands, Jack Gould, Arthur “Art” Milner Sr. (in 2023); 3 children, Roger Gould, Mike Gould (in 1991), Marlene Salinas (in 2005), and 6 other infant babies she lost over the years; grandchildren, Scott Gould, Ted Salinas; and siblings, Hank, Lawrence, David, and Dwight.
