Rustin Courtney Gorecki was born on Palm Sunday, April 3, 1977, in Marshall, MN, to Robert and Kathy (Richards) Gorecki of Ghent, MN.  He was baptized on April 10, 1977 at the Easter Vigil services.  Rustin graduated from Minneota High School in 1996.  He attended Minnesota West Community and Technical School for Plumbers Training.  He lived in Pipestone and Jasper for a time.  For the last seven years, Rustin has been living in St. Paul.  At the age of 10, Rustin was in a four wheeler accident that resulted in a traumatic brain injury which affected his whole life.  For a while, Rustin was a free spirit traveling to California, Hawaii and Washington State.  Life was a challenge for Rustin.  His short term memory loss made employment difficult until his last job at Trillium Staffing.  He loved this job until a back injury forced his recent resignation.  Rustin enjoyed hunting, fishing, playing drums and his dog.  He enjoyed visiting with friends or family in small groups over a beer or piece of pie.  Rustin was very generous and always willing to help those in need.  He was especially fond of time spent with family.

Rustin died unexpectedly on Sunday, June 11, 2023, while traveling to a family gathering in Battle Lake, MN.  He is survived by his daughters Lenmona Gorecki of Elizabeth City, NC, Akasha Gorecki of Hendricks, son Arlow Gorecki of Kendall, WI; parents Robert and Kathy Gorecki of Ghent; sister Heather LeGrand of Burnsville; nieces Elexsis LeGrand of New York, Jayda LeGrand of Burnsville and nephew Dalatheon LeGrand of St. Paul.  He was preceded in death by his grandparents Leonard and Dorys Richards, Clarence Gorecki, Lois Gorecki Chlebecek, and step-grandfather Ed Chlebecek.
