STORDEN, Minn. — A 72-year-old rural Storden man died Thursday evening after becoming trapped inside a grain bin, according to the Cottonwood County Sheriff’s Office.
Emergency dispatchers received a report at approximately 7:46 p.m. on June 11 that a man was believed to be inside a grain bin on a rural property near Storden but could not be located.
First responders arrived and began searching the bin, eventually finding the man buried beneath roughly three feet of corn. Rescue crews worked to remove him from the grain.
The victim, identified as William Quade of rural Storden, was transported by ambulance to Sanford Westbrook Medical Center, where he was later pronounced dead.
The incident remains under investigation.
Responding agencies included the Cottonwood County Sheriff’s Office, Westbrook Police Department, Storden Fire Department and First Responders, and Westbrook Ambulance.
