COTTONWOOD (KMHL) – The Cottonwood Post Office is closed to the public – for now. Roof damage to the building forced the building to close, so now customers need to travel to a nearby city to pick up their mail.
According to a press release from the U.S. Postal Service, the closure is temporary, however no timetable has been set for when it will reopen.
The postal service says Cottonwood customers can pick up mail, packages and P.O. box mail at the Hanley Falls Post Office instead. The postal service says the building’s roof had been damaged by heavy rain, which has led to flooding.
Officials say the closure will not affect mail delivery to the Cottonwood service area.
