MARSHALL – Congresswoman Michelle Fischbach has announced her campaign for another term representing Minnesota’s Seventh Congressional District. Fischbach, first elected in 2020, won re-election in 2024 with over 70% of the vote.

In her announcement, Fischbach highlighted her policy priorities, including reducing federal spending, rolling back regulations, and advocating for rural communities. She credited the current political landscape in Washington for advancing these goals.

“It is a new day in Washington, D.C., with President Trump in the White House and Republican majorities in Congress,” Fischbach said. “Voters have given us the opportunity to do what’s needed to save our great nation.”

Fischbach is currently serving her third term in Congress and sits on the House Committees on Ways and Means and Rules. Before serving in Congress, she was Minnesota’s Lieutenant Governor and the first woman to preside over the state Senate.

Today, the Minnesota DFL Party released the following statement after Rep. Michelle Fischbach launched her campaign for another term in Congress.

“Rep. Fischbach’s constituents want to know why she is trying to pass a budget that would kick thousands of their friends and neighbors off of their health insurance,” said Minnesota DFL executive director Heidi Kraus Kaplan. “But instead of answering for why she is trying to gut Medicaid and food assistance programs, she has gone into hiding and attacked her constituents as ‘garbage.’ If she wants another term in Congress, Rep. Fischbach should stop attacking the people she represents and the programs that working families in her district rely on.”
