OLIVIA (KMHL) – Renville County has recorded its second death from COVID-19.

The Minnesota Department of Health reported the death over the weekend. It occurred just days after the county’s first death was reported last week, there is no other information available about the victim at this time.

Statewide, health officials said yesterday there were 10 more Minnesotans who died from COVID-19 – six of those deaths were tied to long-term care facilities.

The 10 deaths, broke a seven day run of single digit deaths in the state related to the virus.

Health officials say overall 1,435 Minnesotans have died from coronavirus out of 35,861 confirmed cases. There were a total of 315 confirmed new cases reported Monday, 278 people are hospitalized with COVID-19 and 140 are in intensive care.
