Area residents will have several opportunities to donate blood midweek, with drives set for Wednesday and Thursday in multiple communities.
On Wednesday, August 27, blood drives will take place at:
- Wood Lake Community Center (1–7 p.m.)
- Balaton Community Center (12:30–6:30 p.m.)
- St. Paul Lutheran Church, Springfield (8:30 a.m.–2:30 p.m.)
- Windom Community Center (1–6 p.m.)
- Deuel High School, Clear Lake, S.D. (11:30 a.m.–5:30 p.m.)
On Thursday, August 28, additional drives will be held at:
- Our Savior’s Lutheran Church, Milroy (9 a.m.–3 p.m.)
- Wood Lake Community Center (9 a.m.–2 p.m.)
Donors may give whole blood, the most common type of donation, or Power Red, which collects red cells while returning plasma and platelets to the donor. Power Red donors must meet eligibility requirements and have type A negative, B negative, or O blood. Make an appointment by going to redcrossblood.org
