Ralph Victor Hall was born on May 24, 1963 in Pierre, SD to John Sr & MaryAnn (Rose) Hall. The family lived in several towns in South Dakota before moving to Clear Lake in 1974. Ralph was confirmed at St Paul’s Lutheran Church and graduated from Clear Lake High School on his 18th birthday in 1981. He then attended Canby Area Vocational Technical Institute for Food Service Management and graduated in 1982. Ralph and Mildred (Iffert) met while he was attending school and she was working at the Canby Theatre. The couple married on September 17, 1983 and two days later Ralph left for basic training with the Marine Corps. While in basic, their daughter, Rebecca Ann, was born. He served four years, with the last year being stationed in Okinawa, Japan. He also served 16 ½ years with the Minnesota National Guard, he loved his time in the Guard and was extremely proud when his daughter and two nephews followed his footsteps and joined the National Guard as well. Ralph was currently a member of the American Legion of Gary, SD. After his discharge from the Marines, the family settled in Marshall, MN for almost 20 years, this is where Benjamin Michael was born. Ralph worked for many years for Reinhart Foodservice and then drove truck over the road for a division of UPS. In 2007, they moved back to Canby where he then started working for Tec Ord in Clear Lake. And in 2019, moved to Stevens Point, WI to be with Ben and Megan and their daughter, Mia. He was currently working for Ki Mobility building wheelchairs. Ralph had many interests, he wanted to know about everything! He wanted to see everything and do everything. If there was an event going on, he wanted to go, if traveling, he wanted to see every site. He watched many History Channel TV shows and was always reading. He loved riding motorcycle, and we enjoyed many great weekends doing so. He loved camping and being with friends. Ralph loved to socialize and could talk to anyone, always had a story to share. Our friends would say that we couldn’t go anywhere without running into someone we knew. He loved hosting family holiday dinners and doing all the cooking himself. He couldn’t sit still, he was always doing something in the yard or working on a project. While being in Wisconsin, his granddaughter, Mia was born, she was the light of his life and he was always taking pictures of her and was so proud when he could pick her up to take home and babysit a couple hours. To say he didn’t live a full life would be a lie.
Left to mourn are his wife Millie; son, Ben (Meg Schultz); and granddaughter, Mia Rebecca; his parents, John Sr and MaryAnn Hall, Clear Lake, SD; siblings, Doug (Nikki) Keffeler, Watertown, SD, Julie (Bill) Moe, Altamont, SD, John Jr (Jan) Hall, Clear Lake, SD and Lorie (Roger) Springer, Bradley, SD; nieces and nephews, and many extended family. He also leaves behind very special friends, Brian and July Long, Traci Sayre and Mike Simon. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Rebecca Ann; sister, Linda Keffeler; maternal grandparents, Victor and Mabel Rose; paternal grandparents, Ralph and Hilda Hall; and his mother-in-law, Bernice Iffert. We know that he is now with our Becky and there is probably a party going on!
