Marshall (KMHL) – Prominent Physician Assistant, Craig Maki, has announced his retirement from Avera Marshall. After earning his undergraduate degree from Gustavus Adolphus College in St. Peter, he went on complete the Physician Assistant program at the University of Iowa in Iowa City where he then dedicated 37 years to serving the rural health needs in Southwest Minnesota. Over the course of his career, Maki has served patients in southwest Minnesota communities including Lamberton and Granite Falls. From 1987 to 1993 he offered care in both Tyler and Marshall, then in 1997 he started full time in Marshall.

“We are incredibly grateful for Craig’s long-term commitment to the health of the community and for his dedication to providing patients with personalized, compassionate care. We will miss him and we know his patients will too, but we are grateful for his service and wish him all the best in retirement,” said Bobbi Jo Vandendriessche, Vice President, Avera Medical Group.

Maki’s last day will be April 30, 2021.
