OLIVIA – A Pequot Lakes woman has died after her vehicle crashed on Highway 71 in Renville County, according to the Minnesota State Patrol. At approximately 2:54 Sunday afternoon, a 2017 Honda CR-V was traveling northbound on Highway 71. Near the intersection with 870th Avenue, the vehicle left the roadway and crashed in the ditch.
The driver of the Honda, 58-year-old Mary Elizabeth Christensen of Pequot Lakes, died from injuries sustained in the accident. The report notes Christensen wasn’t wearing a seatbelt.
Assistance was provided by the Renville County Sheriff’s Office, Olivia Fire Department, Olivia Ambulance, Olivia Police, and Renville Police.
