People online are sharing the most “small town” things they’ve ever seen. Whether you’ve visited or lived in one, some of the things on this list might sound familiar.
Here they are:
1. Traffic is so sparse that people driving in opposite directions can stop and chat with each other for a few minutes.
2. Neighbors post live updates of the ice cream man’s whereabouts in a Facebook group. The ice cream man also accepts direct messages.
3. An older man who lost his license for too many DUIs started driving his John Deere lawn mower to the local bar.
4. A high school graduating class only had 22 students.
5. A town threw a parade in 1976 for getting a McDonald’s.
6. There’s a combination hair salon and live bait shop called Perms & Worms.
7. The high school prom was in a barn.
8. The town drunk would ride his horse everywhere. If he passed out still in the saddle, the horse would take him home.
9. The local newspaper has a “Lost & Found” section.
10. When you move into a small town, people ask, quote, “Whose house did you buy?”
