Patrick J. Schroeder, age 68, of Canby, MN, passed away as a result of an accident near Wilno, MN on Saturday, August 10, 2024. Celebration of Life will be held 2 – 5 pm on Saturday, August 17, 2024 at the Marble Community Park in Marble Township, Minnesota. Patrick (Pat) James Schroeder was born on February 6, 1956 to parents William and Katherine (Konieczy) Schroeder. He was the last child of seven and was raised on the family farm east of Hendricks, MN. Pat attended school in Ivanhoe and was part of the graduating class of 1974, which he just celebrated their 50th class reunion. He attended Canby Vo-Tech for fabrication and welding. Pat enlisted in the U.S. Army in 1975 where he worked with tanks and was a tank commander. He was honorably discharged in 1979. Pat was united in marriage to Beth A. Block on September 22, 1995 in Watertown, South Dakota. They were joined together with 4 boys, Scott, Jason, Jesse and Micah. Pat spent time working at D&G Excavating, Denny’s Welding and owned and operated his shop, Pat’s Welding, for several years as well as an over the road truck driver for Bednarek Trucking and owning his own truck. In all of Pat’s working career, he has enjoyed the most for the last 15 years working with Randy & Ryan Hauschild at Hauschild Farms. He was truly respected and thrived on them allowing him to use his sometimes questionable “Polish” ingenuity. And as it was, usually worked. He was thankful every day for them taking him in at Hauschild Farms and he felt like family there. Pat cherished time with his family, friends and his best fur buddy, Boomer, and all his other fur babies. He and Beth would take the fur babies on nightly rides so the pups could get their run in. He loved riding motorcycles and taking trips with his kids. You could also find him in his shop tinkering on various projects. Pat loved meeting new people wherever he went, striking up conversations, funny stories whether old or new memories, and he had no problem sharing his political views. And as of recent, was getting pretty good at sharing funny stuff on Facebook. Pat was a legend, known by many and will leave a huge hole in this world.
He is survived by his wife Beth of 29 years; his children, Scott (Samantha) Schroeder, Jason (Jodi) Schroeder, Jesse (Hope) Christianson and Micah Christianson; 11 grandchildren, and 6 great-grandchildren; his siblings: Theresa Lacek, Dennis (Marilyn) Schroeder, Dorothy “Dot” Schroeder; sister-in-law Dorothy Schroeder, Mike & Mary Block, Elwood Sorenson, Donna Wilbur and Debbie Shelstad; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. He is also survived by his extended family, Jared & Amanda Lipinski, Randy, Sue, Ryan, and Annie Hauschild and Jason & Tanya Quaschnick. He is preceded in death by his parents, his brothers, Gregory “Gore” Schroeder, Leonard Schroeder, and sister Marie Schroeder.
