CLARKFIELD, MN (KMHL) — One woman is dead and another is in critical condition after their vehicles were involved in a traffic collision near Clarkfield.  

According to the Minnesota State Patrol, at approximately 7:21 Monday morning, a 2017 Dodge Caravan was traveling northbound on Highway 59, and a 2005 Pontiac Montana was traveling eastbound on 280th Street when they collided in the intersection. The vehicles rolled into the east ditch of Highway 59. The driver of the Caravan, 69-year-old Jean Miller of Clarkfield, was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the Montana, 36-year-old Sallianne Gottschall of Clarkfield received life-threatening injuries and was airlifted to the North Memorial Hospital. A passenger in the Montana, a 6-year-old male juvenile received non-life-threatening injuries and was transported to the Granite Falls Hospital.  

The investigation is ongoing.
