NEW RICHLAND, Minn. — State and local officials will provide an update today on recovery efforts following severe flooding in New Richland. About nine inches of rain fell September 18th and 19th, damaging an estimated 80 percent of homes in the community of about 1,200 people. The flooding also heavily damaged the city-owned New Richland Care Center, forcing the evacuation of 36 residents. Officials will provide an update at 1 p.m.
