BATTLE LAKE, Minn. — The Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension is investigating after a law enforcement officer shot and killed a man during a standoff Friday night in rural Battle Lake. The Otter Tail County Sheriff’s Office says the man allegedly struck someone with a shotgun before barricading himself inside a home. Authorities say he later fired at an armored SWAT vehicle and eventually came outside and pointed a gun at officers. An officer then opened fire, killing the man. No officers were injured. The man’s identity has not been released.
